The Last Days of Disco 1998
My favorite “hangout movie”. Clearly about far more than the final days of one era of New York's nightlife: it's about regret (both in the personal sense and the historical); it's about art, creation, and inspiration; it's about the way a city can function as an organism, with each person playing the role of single cell in that organism. The way everybody dances at the end always makes me teary.
