  Lots of fun. I like the practical effects. I think the scenes in the bureaucratic-like afterlife were the best, but unfortunately had very little attention, presumably due to their expenses.

  A slow start that focuses a lot on John's more vulnerable side, setting up the second half for some very personal more familiar "Saw" action.

  Unfortunately the actual trap stuff in this movie is very uninspired. Yes it's very gory and can make you wince, but it feels like they threw together some of the most basic contraptions they could think of and called it a day.

  Nothing particularly interesting happens between characters dying either, until near the very end…

  What a dark, exhilarating piece of media.

  Some people seem worried that this movie is here to justify Joker's actions; to make him seem right and thus will motivate real people to follow the movies example. It's a superVILLAIN origin story, anyone who sees this and thinks "yeah, he's the good guy" would need to be missing the entire basic premise.
