Donnie Darko 2001
There is a lot to this movie that can't be explained in a short review. There is also a great deal of ambiguity attached to the film. So chances are you could hear 100 different interpretations of the film. As for my take, it is a brilliantly crafted movie that captures the internal struggle that so often emerges in our teenage/young-adult years. Our search for meaning within a universe that feels so meaningless. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a powerful performance as Donnie. There is also likely a connection Post Traumatic Stress and mental illness which again needs far more time to be elaborated upon.

Libeled Lady 1936
There are better versions of this storyline, but few match the caliber of this cast featuring Spencer Tracy, Jean Harlow, William Powell, Walter Connolly, and Myrna Loy, Within the movie, you may also see some of the ugliness that saturated 1930s Hollywood regarding race and stereotypes.

X-Men 2000
The primary cast in this film is sensational. While some of the source material is altered or flat-out deleted, a lot of this film works. It clearly connects to real-world subjects. Considering how badly other comic book films were at this time, this film remains strong thanks to the exceptional talent within the movie.
