Oh man, where can I even start with a movie like this? I guess with the disclaimer that this is a terrible movie by almost any standard you could weigh a movie by. The key to that sentence was the word *almost*, because this movie is a totally hilarious mess. Watching this movie for the first time in over 5 years has probably been the biggest nostalgia trip of my entire life. Thousands of childhood memories came racing back to me -- both good and bad. Steadily becoming one of my all-time favorite movies. Daniel Day-Lewis is simply amazing, in what I believe to be one of the most iconic performances in recent years. The cinematography in this movie is incredible (as could be expected of any Paul Thomas Anderson movie), winning a well-deserved Oscar. Brilliantly paced, with great dialogue, music, set design... Everything about this movie is done well, and the results are fantastic.
