Barbie has a lot of great ideas and witty jokes; I laughed throughout the whole thing. Yet I still came out of the theater somewhat disappointed. While there are so many great, individual ideas, I did not see all of them coming together to present a unique insight, which I was hoping for.

There are glimpses of a really good movie here, but sadly Matrix Resurrections gets lost in a convoluted and unfocused narrative that constantly wants to draw parallels to the first movies in the most egregious ways possible!
If they had scrapped Morpheus, Smith, conflicts with generals, created shorter but more meaningful fight scenes, and most importantly, removed all the footage from the first movies, focused on the remaining characters, and gave it a proper ending, then this could have maybe…
