Yes it’s interminably long for no real reason and yes it’s incredibly emo, but goddamn if it’s impossible to turn away from. Even in its most self serious moments. Love the dreamy soft focus touch to many of the scenes. Love the detective elements and the entire wet vibe. Love that the big car chase has penguin stuck in immovable traffic. Love that The Riddler is some 4chan troll with 500 followers.
Did not love much of the Catwoman subplot, which might have been better in a sequel.
Seems the main theme is too many characters in Gotham have metaphorical and sometimes literal wings.
My 8-year old son said it was funny so it gets a star. But this is objectively one of the laziest most shit looking movies to masquerade as some sort of crowd pleasing spectacle I’ve seen since the early 2000s.
Why is literally everything outside of the primary characters in any scene blurry? The green screen work looks half finished. Everything is blurry and flat, it looks like shit, and none of it is funny. The edges of every frame…
