Movies that seem to reflect whoever I have a crush on that day. Aging with class and grace.
The Place Beyond the Pines 2012
Felt very on the outside looking in by this tale of Father’s and Sons, when usually Dad cinema is my jam, but still managed to have something for everyone like Ryan Gosling’s amazing faded worn out shirt. That’s an Oscar costuming find. Plus Ryan & Benny Mends celebrating dancing scene.
P.s. Just wanted to tell good dad Mahershala Ali, I see you & appreciate you.
P.s.s. Not enough trashy carnies and butterfly knives in film
Just 90s magic, with lovely soaring scores, mixed with cheesy sultry haircuts and one of the best sibling burns on film, aka, "You big dolphin neck" I remember one of the big takeaways from my original viewing back in 1996, other then being completely wrecked aka my first theater cry, was that Brent Spiner isn't just Data. A sweet movie that feels good.
