If I'm being honest, Baz Luhrmann's style just doesn't work for me all too well. I can commend the effort to stick with his bit especially in an era of film where the most popular movies seem to be devoid of style, but I personally find it headache inducing with how fast the editing and camerawork can be, although I do get the appeal! Despite my dislike of his style, I honestly didn't mind it in Elvis.
