This has not held up nearly as well as Bernie's corpse does in the film. The 80s sitcom-esque humor falls flat. Occasionally the quick back-and-forth banter between the leads is effective.

Really, though, the premise is the whole thing. I can't help but be charmed by such a ridiculous yet dark premise presented in the most irreverently colorful 80s comedy fashion. Also, nostalgia. 3 Stars.

Solid direction, beautiful cinematography, brutal kills, gore, and a few surprises. And yet... 2 stars.
