I really liked the more detective-focused batman movie we didn't really have at all in the past. It's just that after he got caught the story felt finished. The last part felt tagged on, that was around the time i was watching my watch and wanted it be over. It also destroyed the character of the Riddler character we established. The movie as a whole is a a bit on the boring side of the Disney catalogue, but the evil queen really elevates the score for me. Especially the transformation scene still fills me with amazement when i watch it today. I can't imagine what it did for someone in 1937!

Now that i think about it, the best scenes from this movie where the more scary/dark ones, like the scenes where Snow White passes out in the forest and the moment the queen defeats herself are the ones i remember most fondly.

I always had a fascination with the desert. The quietness, the emptiness, nothing but sand wherever you look. If i could visit a real desert as a tourist trip i would. Watching the desert in this movie gave me those same vibes (seeing it on the big screen makes it feel that much vaster). I loved the color effects and the way they make you feel why the sand worms are feared. You really feel how it is to live…
