The Killer 2023
I initially misread Charles Parnell’s name as “Chris Parnell” in the credits, and for one incredible half-second I thought that Dr. Leo Spaceman was in the new David Fincher thriller.

Bottoms 2023
Honestly bummed that I didn’t like this as much as everyone else, because on paper everything about it sounds like it should be right up my alley, and I like pretty much everyone involved.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2023
Look, I wasn't expecting greatness. But, even as someone who isn't particularly attached to the Mario brand, I repeatedly found myself thinking "This is seriously the best they could do?".
Cute, colourful animation and a few scenes that charmingly pay tribute to the games are let down by weak jokes, first-draft dialogue and a story so focused on cramming in as many references to the games as possible that it rushes frantically from set-piece to set-piece, never allowing its characters to develop beyond one-dimensional cutouts. And I'm sorry, but in a world where THE LEGO MOVIE exists, that just isn't going to cut it for me.
