Beautiful to look at and impeccably cast. Florence best-frown-in-the-game Pugh is wonderful.

At the risk of sounding like a bad feminist even if there is a positive message for girls and women, I don't like sentimental, stilted/affected dialog, shamltzy coming of age movies and I never have. I believe those things are part of the essence of source material, so none of my issues with it are really any one's fault here, it's just not remotely up my alley.

Riveting to watch with outstanding makeup and acting from almost every character. Unfortunately  it didn’t say enough when it should have had a lot more to say. Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson are horrible, complicated people and despite Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman’s crazy  impressive  performances, the story was told from one dimension when it should have been multifaceted. This is what I want from new movies. Exactly this. Make 100 more of these. It's short, the cinematography is GORGEOUS, it's funny, it's murdery, it's got beautiful rich people and their stuff, it's got sociopathy, it's got a weird off putting techno theme song, and it's got chapters like a book!

It's ok for dark, artistic movies to be fun. They don't all have to be a slog.

I liked that there wasn't a plot. You just get to follow this sad folk singer around for a week and imagine what life would be like if you were a weary freeloader who could seriously use use a teaspoon of charisma and luck each. The music was beautiful; surprising to us all my mom sang along with the whole thing. Loved the music. Loved the way Carey Mulligan says "asshole". Loved John Goodman saying mean things to Llewyn. Loved Ulysses, the cat. I don't think this movie would have been complete without the cat.
