_Kubrick’s review published on Letterboxd:
Fun and colourful. A light family comedy that goes on perhaps a bit too long but overall an enjoyable experience. The casting of Michael Rianda, the director, as the son was a terrible decision. The 10 year old boy sounded like a 30 year old, it was completely distracting and I never got used to it. I sound like a curmudgeon, but other than that I had a good time. But seriously tho, they couldn't find anyone else to play that kid? Danny McBride was surprisingly good as the dad - never seen him play anything but an asshole, but here he pulls off being sweet.
