    Connie is a despicable character to his essence. Throughout the entire film he uses everyone he stumbles across in some way, likely barely seeing them as people, but more just means to get himself ahead. He blatantly lies to or emotionally manipulates every character in the movie, regardless if they’re complete strangers, family or “loved” ones.     Something I love is how the film more or less could’ve just as easily taken place the week before or the week after. Llewyn is ultimately doomed to repeat similar events over and over like a purgatory (due to both the fault of his own and the universe’s), and will ultimately be left behind in favour of artists that are either more talented or more marketable. But at the extended ending, I always interpreted as him coming to peace with that fact, finding the humour in his perpetual situation.
