Johann Rucker’s review published on Letterboxd:
Funny to see both the right and neoliberals reading this as a scathing denouncement of socialism, and not the careful dismantling of political idolatry and bureaucratization that it truly is. It's a political miniseries, I get it, we are probably all gonna end up misreading this thing, but come on lmao. Cults of personality are BAD. Hero worship of people in power is BAD - they are not here to be your friends, they are here to govern you. Middle managers in high government are BAD!!! It's all so bad, and fucking tragic.
This is expertly written, superbly acted, and keenly directed. Can't recommend it enough. Lots of all-timers here.
