    Teenage 2013

Watched by Sam Bilcliff 16 Apr 2022

There are some conclusions alluded to here I wish the film had reached by the end, there are crimes only hinted at and a final betrayal of youth by the old that the film cannot quite articulate, it ends too soon and leaves us pondering the consequences of the world that was created then and lives on now. The real villain of this story stays masked and has got away with the accidental help of the joyous, meddling, angry and…

What a joyous belated mothers day experience.

Convinced Lynch had no idea what half the stuff in the book meant so just made shit up until there was a scene he really got then just painted by numbers until he was lost again

    Good Bad

Also team Charlie, he holds this franchise together and I want a spin off

Furthermore how can these people claim to be vampires, they are basically physically fit carnivores who look sweaty in the sun. Seems like all Belle needs to do is get down the gym and start a Paleo diet

There is something intangible in that party scene that I love, its like dazed and confused but actually both of those descriptors. Its unapologetically about youth, love the way it doesn’t exposit anything of why they hate school or go to parties; as a youth I know already why school is dull and getting drunk and starting a huge bonfire could change your life, it lets the adults do the talking and the young burn it all down.
