Whether the Weather is Fine 2021
wala nang mas buburgis pa kesa sa linyahang "nothing makes sense anymore"
I know my absurdism. This isn't it.This is just "I'm not like other girls" or "these masa is so tanga" kind of movie coming from the comforts of the heated seats of burgis film graduates who are a product of UP's tuition fee hike.
Muli't muli, abswelto na naman si Noynoy Aquino sa isang yolanda film.nakakahiya. nakakadiri.

Whether the Weather is Fine 2021
Really beautiful film about a really tragic situation. The way this captures the local culture and experiences of Filipino people and shares it cinematically with the world is spectacular. A stunning film, glad I watched it and discovered it at the festival.

Mariquina 2014
ricky davao is phenomenal, while barbie forteza suprises in this film that weaves family, history, industry, and geography into a compassionate examination of grief in all of those four threads.
how do we ask for repentance when we've numbed ourselves to feel anything? do we have to force ourselves to change when the world around us changes? and where do we hold on to when we look around and no one and nothing is left?

Miracle 1982
Himala is a famous piece of Philippine cinema, and has one of the most quoted line ("Walang himala. Ang himala ay nasa puso ng tao"). This film is packed with symbolisms, and annotations to blind fanaticism and sanctimonious religious beliefs. Here, Nora Aunor proved why she's the original Philippine superstar. The last sequence is scary yet beautifully done.

Manila in the Claws of Light 1975
Just another end. Another sad note on the newspapers.
Before being swallowed up by the city, Julio Madiaga and Ligaya Paraíso lived like Adam and Eve in their bucolic paradise of simple but peaceful life. Everything changed with the arrival of Mrs. Cruz, the snake (or pig, as Julio would say) that offers the forbidden fruit of greed.
The director shows all the faces of the moral rot that inhabits his Manila, sparing no one. People here are abused to…

Maborosi 1995
What about the emptiness you left for me? Why didn't you take your absence with you?
You grabbed my hand and I looked at you, you were there, fighting the tears. I looked away and you left, you weren't there, I cried. I woke up into an endless road surrounded by trees. I was scared but you weren't there. I yelled but you weren't there. I woke up again and here I am, looking out of the window to the…

Eternals 2021
A very different yet stunning film from the MCU, it has great visuals and it conveys a wonderful message about humanity. I like how they were able to show the eternals as families and i love the chemistry of the characters especially with Thena and Gilgamesh, Makkari and Druig
The action sequences are great, everyone did a brilliant job with the portrayal of their characters but Angelina Jolie (Thena), Gemma Chan (Sersi), and Salma Hayek (Ajak) were really incredible. Barry…

Manila in the Claws of Light 1975
Here in Philippines I've always hated movies here because they always made a mediocre romcom and a laughable horror movies but sometime you gotta dig deeper to find a gold and now here i am seeing this true beauty by Lino Brocka. BTW this movie reminds me of taxi driver by scorsese
