I was born and raised in Illinois and I knew none of what happened in this film. That's how much black history is taught in schools. The fact that I did not know not only the story, but even the people in this film, pisses me off. They will teach us about the god damn Mesopotamia for the stone age before they want to talk about revolutionary events that happened 50 years, Fuck the Education system. Great movie, amazing acting all throughout the roles, the cinematography was something I kept noticing and really enjoying, the music was great and atmospheric, and just a really great story that I wish I knew sooner. If you can see this movie, see it, It is a powerful film.
