STILL HOLDS UP!!!
First, I just want to say that I am have not read any Shakespeare plays. I know the story beats for some of them, but its really not my forte. I have seen some Kurosawa adaptations and The Lion King. That’s about it. I’m no expert.

The first 10 minutes are cinematic perfection. Just a very sharp, cine-literate and loving ode to John Carpenter’s Halloween.
The following hour is good but not as good. Its setting up the second half and sadly dips in quality. It doesn’t sustain the energy of the first 10 minutes.
The last 40 minutes return to cinematic perfection. A rollicking thrill ride. On the edge of my seat the entire time. Every thing set up in the first half is paid off with such gleeful satisfaction.
Overall, Its really great. Highly recommend. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch it.
