Misunderstood Masterpiece!
People who say it was messed up are completely wrong. The way Snyder dealt with all the characters was proportionate. Alfred, Lois Lane, Wonder Woman, Perry White, and Senator Finch were quite precise with their presence.
Superman's portrayal in Man of Steel was destructive and struggling, but if we observe closely in BvS he was quite patient. He never took unnecessary action until the last moment, as Superman is supposed to be. This is the Superman representation we need in today’s world. We don't expect Batman to hate Christopher Reeves’ version of Superman, do we? Right from the beginning Snyder has set up a brutal world with terrorist cells and all sorts of monsters. His depiction of Superman is appropriate looking at the circumstances we live in.
Batman was absolute perfection. Comparing it with Nolan's Batman is not fair, since both are at completely different stages of life. This Batman is old, frustrated, paranoid and dealing with an identity crisis too, since after so many years he has not brought much good to Gotham. The loss of Robin has also changed him in a weird way, hence I totally get his aggression and killing. I am absolutely fine with this aggro version of Batman! I don't find anything wrong with the way Snyder portrayed him and in the end he finds his redemption which is what matters. I think it’s getting more hate because Snyder is behind it, but even if we have a proper source material there is nothing wrong with being a bit experimental.
The second part of the movie really worked for me, from the fight to the Doomsday sequence. Wonder Woman is already looking badass, and I think it’s really cool how DC has already launched a female superhero, who saved the asses of the two most powerful superheroes of the world. Honestly, Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was bit clunky but it grew on me as the movie proceeded.
BvS is very balanced and felt straight outta a comic book, which is what I liked about it. Not every CBM has to look like Marvel! It's okay to have your carry your vibe, infact that's a good thing. I am not a huge fan of Snyder's previous works but he nailed this one. There have been many worse movies than this; I guess, the world just wasn't ready for it.
Note - Ben Affleck is the best part of the film. I couldn't have been more wrong about someone before. I take all my criticism back right from the day when he was cast.
