King Aaron’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film is a masterpiece that had bad timing. In the states, this film was released the same weekend as Thanksgiving here and the it flopped. It should have been released in October where it would have made a lot of money or at least more than it made. This film is one of the most depressing horror films that I have seen especially cause of the ending which was hopeful in the book but completely dark and sad in the film. I always felt that this film was about temptation and it becomes everybody's downfall in this film. All of the acting is top notch and even Marcia Gay Harden's overacting fits in. I still need to see the black and white version because it sounds great and looks cool from what I have seen. This bottleneck setting is one of the most perfect settings for the film.
