Mulholland Drive

Mulholland Drive ★★★★½

No hay banda. There is no band. It is an illusion.

This week I got to re-visit Lynch's magnum opus: Mulholland Drive. Though, like Roger Ebert, I am reticent to dive too deep into any of Lynch's films given that much of their potency arises from their abstraction, I couldn't help but note how Lynch's themes of artificiality rose to the top.

Every time I re-watch Mulholland Drive, new interpretations and symbols become prominent. So, this time around I thought I'd examine how Lynch deals with artificiality and expectation with special attention paid to the Club Silencio scene.
