Letterboxd — Your life in film

Some cool sequences but not really my thing.

I enjoyed the movie. Felt a bit slow at times. There’s something about Sweeney that I find entertaining aside from her overall look. The final shot is one I won’t get out of my mind anytime soon.

Solid with some genuine scares.

Fun little surprise.

Nothing incredibly original, nothing overly special but a movie that does the job. I’d recommend to casual horror watchers.

What the fuck is this movie! Just call 911! Three numbers!! Just do it! Somebody! Anybody! This movie is so frustrating. Dammit!

I’m in the minority on this one I guess.

3.25 stars if I could. I liked it. It kept me engaged, I love how she thought she thought she was investigating but really it was him doing the investigating. I enjoy this genre and was looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint ME.

I liked it but didn’t like it. I liked the satire and the comedy but that didn’t let me take the disaster part seriously it felt too long and thought it was going to be better than it was.

The Purge films are the films they are because they’re fun and provide the action and violence we go to see them for. This was a “woke” video essay on racism in a way that was boring and not needed for this movie. It basically turned into whites vs. everyone else even to the point where we have a neo-nazi with a swastika on HIS FACE in a van at the open. It’s a bit heavy handed and not that good. The last two Purge’s have not been very good, get back to the basics.

2.5. But a solid 2.5. It’s not original or something we haven’t seen before. It’s entertaining and like many have posted the ending pays it off pretty well. The moms performance on the phone felt incredibly real.

Refreshing to see Kevin Hart like this. A pleasant surprise.
