This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

i am aware of the differences between this and the book, and one of the things i was most shocked to learn (apart from the fact that she doesn't really interact with a lot of people — mostly to give that feeling of loneliness and shut off from the world, but doesn't translate well to a series) was the little presence of alex's mother, which i really ended up enjoying as a role and growing involvement in the story, and…

for quite some time that i've been longing to find another movie that caused a spark in me, since i've been feeling a bit let down by movies lately. i balance just the right amount of "been meaning to watch this for years and created expectations" to "literally never heard of this movie since 5 seconds ago, but the thumbnail caught my attention, let's watch it" — so thank you so much mubi, as the latter is the case with…

i loved the shots, and overall…

in terms of acting, it has its flaws, but considering its budget and being free to watch, im not too hung up on that, and the same applies to props, makeup and VFX.

the narration feels eerily similar to gaiman's in the audiobook, considering this came before, and manages to convey the same atmosphere.

the animation took me by surprise, since i was wondering how they would adapt that sequence but wasn't expecting it to be animated. it was actually…
