This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This was fun, but I gotta be honest thkse three stars belong to Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry.
Also, still can't get over the fact that the (heavily overused) trope of the dead wife is used in this film THREE SEPARATE TIMES.
This is a very well made film, and visually beautiful - but I felt like some elements weren't as well developed as they could have been, especially the lead character - which really hurts the film over all. I saw Alex Garland say he felt this film was the more emotional sibling to the intellectual/cerebral film Ex Machina - I'm not sure I agree. Overall, a good film - but not sure if I'd watch it again.
