Spotlight on Al Pacino

This October Academy Cinemas is putting the spotlight on beloved actor Al Pacino! The iconic, nine-time Oscar nominee made his mark alongside the likes of Robert De Niro, Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson in the counter-cultural films from the 70s, but his impact on cinema extends well beyond that decade!

It’s about time we finally have an original science fiction movie come out and the Creator does not disappoint. Every frame feels like it has been pulled from the concept art of Simon Stålenhag while the story is thought provoking and original Gareth Edwards delivers on blending philosophical AI idea’s with action. If you are a fan of film’s like Blade Runner and Distract 9 I think this is a must watch.

Gang, the amount of hours I have spent thinking about this film is immeasurable. Partially (mostly) because it was always the go to "Teen Movie" I analyzed whenever we had to study that genre in year 11 media studies, but an analysis is an analysis, baby!

I will always smile when I see scenes from this pop up online. It's not underrated per se, but god is it underappreciated. Tina Fey can do no wrong. Come see it in theatres - it's on a Wednesday, so if you aren't wearing pink then you're doing it wrong >:(

A super fun throwback to summer-drenched sex comedies of the 2000s, makes ya feel like the movies are back! I'm not sure if the movies necessarily went anywhere but it felt like a small void in my soul has been filled up and made whole again through seeing a film like this on the big screen with an audience. Don't miss seeing this one in cinema!! The atmosphere cannot be replicated through streaming ;)

A forgotten gem from the early 2000's where the animation is hot and the actors are hotter. Brendan Fraser solidifies himself as a great comedy actor who in my opinion does an even better job at acting with cartoon characters than Bob Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit). Steve Martin does what he does best playing a deranged CEO. You probably didn't see this at the cinema when it came out so come see it now!
