Pretty boring Rohmer tale, some people have stated on the fact it sends the message friendship is more important than love etc. but Gapard is really just some boring guy, who can't make his mind up over 3 women so eventually he gets no woman and just states that his music is more important. It just feels so bland, it's not my 1st Rohmer film I've seen many better by him even A Tale of Springtime and A Tale of Winter had more moments (Haven't seen Autumn yet) and felt at least like they had believable interesting characters and stories to back them up. This though it feels bland and Gaspard really is the most annoying of characters.
What happens in the 1 hour and 49 minutes of the film just isn't that significant and it leaves you cold. I don't really care about certain underlying messages etc. the story should be interesting and the characters should be interesting, even if Gaspard was portrayed to be some vicious heartbreaking womaniser, it wasn't doing a good job.
