Adam’s review published on Letterboxd:
A young witch in the big city trying to find herself? Trying to find her place in the world? Uh, yeah - pretty much sounds like the best movie ever. And when she’s discouraged, loses her passion, loses her identity... I’ve been there :’(
But holy smokes it makes me cry cry cry when the grandma bakes her that cake, and then also when she flies again at the end and saves the day and everyone cheers for her :’)
It’s hard to find the thing we’re passionate about in life, and it’s esp. hard to unequivocally be passionate about it always. With the love and support of the ppl closest to us though, we can find our way through those challenges and regain that passion!! That’s p much what a lot of my favourite movies are about (Speed Racer, Love & Basketball, Ed Wood, etc.). I’m so predictable xP
