    The Watch

A failure in almost every respect. Whoever wrote this script needs to get taken out back and beaten with 1000 printed copies of it. Ben Stiller lost his shtick a decade ago (with the exception of Tropic Thunder, but I will never forgive him for Tower Heist). To Jonah Hill and especially Vince Vaughn: I expect so much more from you guys than this dreck.

    The Bourne Legacy

I've seen the 3 previous Bourne movies starring Matt Damon, but I admit that I barely remember any of them. So I definitely went into this movie remembering practically nothing of the Bourne franchise. Both Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz were superb, especially the former. The script was your typical spy thriller with a sci-fi twist and it really didn't break much ground or offer anything new to the audience in that respect. However, the pacing was good and I…

    Killing Them Softly

I really wanted to like this movie, but it had so many problems. I'm not even sure where to start. Let's get the good out of the way first: Brad Pitt and Scoot McNairy were great. I admit that I was super psyched to see James Gandolfini play a gangster again, but his role was so pointless and his presence was under-utilized. The pacing was so erratic. And what was with the constant Bush/Obama speeches on in the background of…

    The Revenant

This one really took me by surprise. I was not expecting it to be this awesome. The Revenant has a great blend of gore and comedy. It was kind of like Shaun of the Dead (a buddy horror comedy) but with vampires instead of zombies and a totally American spin on the whole thing, whereas Shaun is VERY British. Also, the filming style was great and the director used trashy film stock with oversaturation of reds and greens, which suited everything perfectly. Loved it.

If you laughed your ass off at the end of this movie, then you probably have a sick sense of humor like me. This film rocks.
