Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 2022
If you removed a certain fan service MCU mandated section from this that grinds the pacing to a screeching halt and hardly pushes the story forward, you’d have one of the MCU’s best offerings. Raimi does so much here and it’s a joy to watch him be able to utilize such a vast toolkit again. Just wish Marvel didn’t have to interrupt the movie to sell some upcoming other movies and give the fans what they think they want. What they really want is some Raimi cam, cool edits, and a groovy time!

Play Misty for Me 1971
This movie kinda rules. It's very haunting but also comforting in its laid back 70s vibe with Eastwood driving around Carmel-by-the-Sea and playing jazz on his late night radio show. It's certainly a horror movie, but Clint is clearly more interested in making himself look handsome, photographing the ocean, and playing jazz, and why shouldn't he be? This movie pauses progressing the plot halfway through for about 15 minutes to include an uninterrupted set at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Eastwood in the pocket right out the gate!

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
One of the biggest compliments I can give this is that Death of Dick Long director Daniel Scheinert now has a clean slate in my book. What an achievement this movie is! In all sincerity, everyone involved in this should be really proud.

The Worst Person in the World 2021
Aksel: “That’s all I have. I spent my life doing that.
Collecting all that stuff, comics, books…
And… I just continued, even when it stopped giving me the powerful emotions I felt in my early 20s.
I continued anyway.
And… now it’s all I have left.”
Me: “Time to pre-order the Worst Person Criterion!” -
