Don't Breathe

Don't Breathe ★★★

Fede Alvarez still isn't the best at normal, reserved filmmaking (multiple characters in a fully lit space discussing something of importance at 1:30 PM) yet propels his somewhat awkwardly-introduced themes to a mutated & compelling head alongside what he does best: Intensity through suspense and horror, whether outright scary or not. From my perspective, it's not all that immediately horrifying, but it sticks with you as a continuous assault on your sense of comfort. And my god, you'll be uncomfortable. Also, Dylan Minnette is the next big thing.

Note: The audience you're with will scream, clap, recoil, cheer, all of that stuff. This shit's gonna be a big deal.
