“Shenanigans” is the immediate front runner for next years Academy Award for Best Original Song
I can't for a second defend my three star rating for this. By any aesthetic standard of moviemaking this is generic and poor.
It wasn't even released on the cinema - it was a TV movie.
However I saw it as a kid and loved it and watching it again thirty years later it has a nostalgic appeal of the throwaway Disney movies that were churned out and traded on the "quality" logo of the Disney brand.

Agonizingly dull, painfully unfunny and profoundly pointless. Films like this make you angry at the director and the fact that he gets funding for this self indulgent piffle.
The modern day critics are already a lost cause (they haven't seen a single long take that is not worthy of masturbating over), but to everyone else I use the line one of my friends used about one of Madonna's pitifully pretentious lost B-sides - Rubbish, avoid.
