"Alas, earwax!"
It is hard to believe it has been nearly three years since I have last seen this film! Which unsurprisingly as I watched this I thought a lot about childhood and how when I was younger this and so many other movies played on such a loop it is hard to envision going 3 months between watches, let alone 3 years! I also really realized that while watching this movie that no other series really will have a specific place in my heart like Harry Potter. The many well deserved critiques and faults of the series are there as well, but there is an inescapable glow I have for it. Which for this movie specifically, the abrupt scenes and quickly resolved tensions were apparent in a way I never noticed before, but I also gained a greater appreciation for the effort that went into elevating this movie with such great costumes, set designs, and an all-time great score. I'm sure this will be a rewarding rewatch!
