“How tragic that man can never realize how beautiful life Is until he Is face to face with death.”

What would you do if you found out that you were going to die in six months? No, seriously, what would you do? You could finally cross off everything off that bucket list of yours. Or you could give all of your money away. Or maybe you could just waste your money on alcohol in hopes for the inevitable to come sooner. Well…

“It is what you think it is.”

After what seemed to be like an eternity of me annoying my friends and family, constantly hyping this film up, I think it was safe to say my expectations were through the roof. Like, way beyond the roof and into the clouds. So i can’t tell you how delighted I am to have finally seen it and walk out of the theater, with the biggest grin on my face, because this movie reached…

Y’know, I’m tired of these overly self aware, in-your-face cameo fests just as much as the next guy but this movie has a (mind you, very brief, like blink and you’ll miss it) Butthead cameo, more specifically, Senator Butthead, and well… you guys know how much I love Beavis and Butthead. So I’ll give this movie a pass.

And just for the record, I hope senator Butthead wins the election. He’s got my vote.

So tragic and unsettling yet so human and oddly heartwarming (at least as heartwarming as a film like this can get). It’s the definition of bittersweet, but the sweet isn't at all overshadowed by the bitter. There’s a nice balance here between drama and comedy that I came to expect from Jerrod as a comedian, but I didn’t think it would end up to be so ambitious, and let alone pull the story off as well as it did, despite…

I don’t think I’ve had a more lively theater experience in my life. The laughing, the crying, the pure joy— not to mention just how utterly hypnotized I was by the last hour. This is a movie that throws everything at the wall and I mean EVERYTHING (it’s in the damn title cmon), and every idea sticks. Seriously, where else are you gonna see chekhov’s gun with a butt plug? Where else are you gonna see thirty different climaxes in…

Didn’t think Ortega’s character could get any more relatable but then she told her therapist that Paul Dano is her celebrity crush and… lol.

Despite some rather questionable choices story wise and the film looking kind of bland visually, this film really hit all the right notes for me. This is a deeply honest, grounded story about grief and healing. A somber and calm, yet loud and freeing coming-of-age that deals with really sensitive topics in such a carefully empathetic way. It feels so incredibly real because well— it kinda is. Sooo great.
