Burning Cane ★★

Burning Cane features a small cast of deeply complex characters, and the performances are extremely realistic and natural, but that also makes the film feel extremely mundane
The duality of man is on display here, butnunfortunately, it doesn’t seem like anyone learns much of anything
I just wasn’t very engaged with any of the content, although I enjoyed how realistically raw the film felt
I will say though, the director just finished high school when he completed this film and is the youngest filmmaker at Tribeca, so for that, gotta give credit where credit is due
I sure as hell wasnt doing anything remotely like that at his age, so that can be admired, but still, this film just wasn’t for me
