all i can really say is that watching a man give birth FOUR TIMES was not on my 2022 bingo card 💀

I’m almost positive Marvel thinks I’m a 2 year old that can’t understand complex emotions

Anyone else tired of the MCU at this point?

Even though the concept seems to be dense, the popularity of the “mind-bending” genre made this much easier to follow

I love the core of this movie
And the fact that that core has layers to it as well just takes the movie to another level

Let’s make Lady bird but she has talent but no Timotheé 😪

Actually I think this film rides off of characters who are treated very kindly through the writing, really only good things to say about it. I saw some other films this year that I thought were more complex, but maybe for Best Picture we needed a simple story about family, music, and small businesses triumphing over the federal government

Great film that seeks to embody the millennial condition. I think that it could be more clear in its application of its prologue to the later chapters, but it certainly treats the viewer with tremendous respect to interpret it. A few creative scenes that I had mixed thoughts on, but they largely succeed in getting their point across.

Nothing truly happens TO the protagonist, this is really a film about having full autonomy of our lives unlike any other generation…

Lady says you gotta play by the rules to make it in this world. Then she says you gotta break the rules to make it in this world. Makes no sense for an already unlikeable protagonist to have a wishy washy ideology. No sense at all.

I won’t discuss this movie in context of Nolan or Snyder, Reeves makes a VERY original take that works. I walked out feeling it was perfect, the 3 hours is felt just a little bit.

It takes its time. It develops its characters. It stays faithful to the core of Batman AND Bruce Wayne (Bruce’s trauma is so evident in Pattinson’s performance) and I’m sure some people will try to convince me otherwise at some point. But this is honestly a better movie than Dune or Blade Runner 2049 and I love it

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The writing of this movie is some of the best I’ve experienced in recent years.

I felt dissatisfied when the movie ended. I felt like the story was moving towards a specific ending, hinted at through dialogue and symbolism. Yet, Chung subverts expectations and I highly respect that. I had to accept an ending of hope even after a spiraling towards turmoil.

And isn’t that beautiful. This is a message that I hope to communicate someday through story.

This one twists and turns better than Murder. Actually, now that I think about it, Death outdoes Murder in every aspect

Purely giving this 4 stars because of the levels to which this movie communicated its themes on love and marriage

Otherwise it’s insanely bizarre and awkward, but so are relationships soooooooo
