Andrew Hutch’s review published on Letterboxd:
Parasite sets off as a straight forward and not especially funny comedy, but then it starts to reveal its layers. What follows is a devious and expertly controlled film that builds and twists with a ferocity grounded in social injustice. The set pieces are extraordinary and the art design impeccable. The comedic elements work better as the film becomes increasingly deranged. In keeping with its title the film thrives on its multiple genre references. Lots to admire and enjoy. But not enough heart and soul for me to really love it.
