Richard Linklater programming on 35mm at AFS. Brilliant. Absolutely loved this

Beautiful and obviously extremely rare glimpse into the private life of Martin. It’s nuts how influential his work is 30+ years later in every aspect of todays clothing standards and trends. There will never be another him and I couldn’t help but think about every cornball I’ve ever known who try basing their entire personality off of ripping off his ideology lol

As much as I appreciate everything Wes Anderson has done with film, I’ll have to say that this one was a tiny bit of a let down. I had a hard time remaining completely interested after the first story and I was underwhelmed by the actors performances. Few positive takeaways: It was great seeing Algerian actress Lyna Khoudri on a big production, Tilda Swinton (as usual), Lyna Khoudri, Francis McDormand, and Benicio del Toro’s performances were great. I absolutely loved…

The way I cried during this film… yeah. Simply gorgeous and touching portrayal of the relationship between mothers and children and the nearly unattainable expectations of that dynamic. I love how much the importance of healthy and conscientious adult figures in a child’s life was highlighted and this all hit way too close to home. Walked out of the theater wanting a child more than ever.
