Upon a Star Wars Marathon weekend viewing, I immediately see the deftness of Irvin Kershner. While George Lucas created a wonderfully universe with rich stories to tell, it is Kershner who demonstrates how camera movement and good blocking adds dimension to the story. Holding the actually camera work next to Star Wars puts Empire on a grander level.
The story itself adds more depth too, but as a stand alone, this doesn't work as a complete film without the films…
