Kinda crazy to see him do something so different from what he’s knows for, and especially considering that this is got him his big break.
People ask why he never went back to making films like this but honestly I think it’s just that directors/producers weren’t giving him the opportunity. I bet if you gave it to him now he’d do just as well.
When I found out that Miles Davis, my favorite jazz musician of all time, recorded a soundtrack to a French New Wave film and did so by basically freestyling as he watched the rough cut I just had to see it.
Was putting it off for a while but I’m glad I finally got around to seeing it. Pretty good movie but frankly the only thing that’s missing is more Miles Davis, I feel like they could have used his music just a tiny bit more. Still great tho.
This was the movie I was anticipating the most this year other than Infinity War and by god did it live up to my expectations.
