Letterboxd — Your life in film

This one may rework familiar themes and characters, but no way you can say you’ve seen it all before. It's totally bonkers, but I highly doubt I'll see anything more original or creative this year.

It's not Romancing The Stone, but then again, nothing is.

Geographically static, almost feels like a play, but somehow Rylance manages to raise everything up a notch. The kind of movie they just don't make anymore.

As far as I can remember, every videogame movie adaptation I've seen, sucked. Mainly because it sucked as a movie in general, but also because I knew the games through and through, and they never got it right. For many years now, I've lost track of gaming. So I missed out on the (apparently great) Uncharted franchise. The upside: for me, this movie didn't suck.

Classic Michael Bay. Who invested in drone shots. So. Many. Drone shots..

Spielberg's gets the most out of the simple premise of his 'first' feat, barely saving it from being too repetitive. I'm glad he got everything right with his next project.

If you'd remove the rituals, visions and other trippy stuff, there would be a thin half-hour story with little substance left. I suppose Eggers will not likely be one of my favourite directors, but once again, his movie is beautifully shot.

Fans of arthouse horror have reason to rejoice. A great example of how you can honour the genre classics, while still doing your own thing.

Not sure if it was any good, since the lighting guy apparently had to work without any budget..

Feels like I've just watched 5 disaster movies simultaneously. Sorry, I mean, 5 disastrous movies.

Not as exuberantly executed as its fun premise deserved, but still giving its viewers exactly what its title says. It needs a sequel.
