good for her
pure eye-candy, The Batman was a genuine joy to watch.
Loved the injection of humanity into the character, the sloppy fights, the swaying emotions, Robert Pattinson may be the most nuanced Batman to date in my opinion (I’m totally biased here) and the same goes for most of the cast, it all comes together seamlessly.
I’d like to address the almost-too-perfect cinematography here, Greig Fraser delivers a bold imagery that just keeps impressing throughout the whole runtime.
Overall a pleasant surprise!
What can I say, this is my second Edward Yang film and I loved it. There's something humbling about his movies, these characters trapped in a certain determinism, in lives they wish to escape from and uncertain futures, it hits close to home... I have difficulty putting into words most of what it is I liked, but if there's anything I noticed the most was the amazing use of light, not only is light present in this neon-filled city, but at times it speaks for the characters louder than any dialogue or action could.
