ZFF 2022 #12
Narratively formless and hyperspecific to a fault, Alcarràs feels like it's genuinely uninterested in speaking to a wider audience than the town it takes its name from. While this doesn't make for a particularly satisfying experience – also because virtually all of the conflicts hinted at over the course of the film's two-hour runtime end up being unceremoniously dropped – I did come away with a certain admiration for it.
