The ideas Vaz puts forward are hardly groundbreaking – if you pave over nature to build your monument to humanity, nature will not go quietly – but the mixture of documentary and slow-cinema experimentation is quite evocative in places. Stunning imagery and soundscape too, and in a markedly different way than in The Age of Stone.
