I can excuse the anachronistic SRF logo on the hotel TV, but I draw the line at feeding the general misconception that Y2K was a complete hoax.
Well, at that and at the fact that Polanski is now at a stage in his career where he passes off limp, obvious, terribly executed jokes about dog poop, Alzheimer's, and rich people falling down, having had plastic surgery, being vain and oblivious, evading taxes, and talking about sex – jokes that would slot right into Scary Movie 4 – as a biting satire. Low-rent Östlund, and if you know how I feel about Östlund, that's even less charitable than it sounds. Most engaging thing here was watching John Cleese struggling to hold on to his American accent.
