Brie Larson could have created something conventional with her directorial debut but does the complete opposite; it's magical, teeming with an imagination and oddity that most films fear to attempt. There are no boundaries for how fantastical Unicorn Store gets which makes it so... wonderful. And liberating.
Witness the love and effort put into this film; see it for her terrific, hilarious, and touching performance (a new favourite of mine). If anything, watch it for her (and Samuel L. Jackson’s) iconic wardrobe. Bravo, Brie!
