Going from Goodfellas to this was fun. Ray is much more tender here and his intensity reflects sadness as opposed to rage. Pretty great to see.
This movie does feel very 90s, especially in its racial commentary, but tbh I'm not sure how much further we've really gone. This is arguably more racially interesting than shit like The Help and Green Book.
Anyway, it was sweet.
