Satire like this is usually made to open your eyes to the world it's trying to make light of. It's kinda hard to do that nowadays because, well, look around. See my biggest problem with the overbloated, weirdly edited, oddly unfunny Don't Look Up is the fact that it's depressingly not surprising at any turn. Every "shocking" reveal or reaction to events is one you see and think: "Yup that's how that'd probably go". That in turn makes this movie boring and devoid of excitement because you're kind of numb to things like this at this point.
