Damn. I really really really wanted to like this more than I did. The archival 16mm footage obviously looks incredible and is, at times, all encompassing. The score by AIR’s Nicolas Godin is a nice touch. And it’s hard not to be immediately enthralled with its story, but oh my did Miranda July’s narration become tiresome. I partially blame July’s unenthusiastic tone, but I also think the script didn’t justify this films 100 minute length.
