Seeing as the Holiday season is slowly approaching I thought I'd give this John Hughes classic a watch.
Neal Page (Steve Martin) must struggle to travel home for Thanksgiving with an obnoxious slob of a shower curtain ring salesman Del Griffith (John Candy) as his only companion.
Right from the get go you see the differences between Martin's and Candy's characters, Neal Page is a total dick whilst Del Griffith is so lovable and Steve Martin and John Candy make a great duo, this film is light hearted and funny yet also emotional.
The music is stand out with some really good music with some light hearted feel pieces and some more emotional pieces, this film is powerful and provides a good message and it put a big smile on my face near the end.
With it's good flowing narrative and a few issues aside since it is pretty slow at the start and also has a few audio dubbing issues, this is a perfect feel good film to watch during the holidays and is probably my favourite John Hughes film.
